Shape and Tone Barre is a compressed, hybrid, workout class combining Ballet basics with elements of Pilates, Yoga, and strength training. This group fitness class is open to all levels and taught by company member, Tay Diggs.

This class will use improvisational techniques and strategies to begin to bring dancers into a deeper awareness of the body and its capabilities for movement. Participants will use ballet vocabulary as structure for movement sequencing, but will begin to allow the forms to evolve and shift based on ideas explored throughout the class.

In this safe space, participants will be directed to expand beyond the creative and physical boundaries. Through exploration, dancers will find new ways of moving that is comfortable within their body, while investigating foreign territory/movement. This class will encourage attendees to travel through and not around those grey areas. Be ready to let go and have fun, while playing around with inspired Afro beat movement, contemporary and street jazz. (All levels are welcomed.)

Participants will go through the fundamentals of acting as it relates to dance,  stage presence, the concept of “seeing seeing”, the art of storytelling, and living in the moment while performing. During this class we will discuss any and all barriers that may hinder a dancer from performing to their full capacity. Through exploration, dancers will be able to examine their artistry to become better performers.

Chad Vaught

This Contemporary based class will be taught by Guest artist, Chad Vaught. This class will bring awareness to the body, and focuses on specific movement in the comfort of your own space.
