We are thrilled to announce our new Virtual initiative, ELEMENTS: A COMPANY WORKSHOP with Artistic Director, Bridget L. Moore, and Company dancers. If you are interested in pursuing a career in dance, want to experience the Elements of B. MOORE DANCE by training in a professional setting, or are a professional dancer and simply want to maintain core principles while navigating through the pandemic, then this workshop is designed for you.
Join us each Saturday, starting August 15th through October 3rd, for a series of dynamic classes, providing you with guidance, feedback, mentorship, and the essential elements of dance. Classes will be offered in the following: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Conditioning, Improvisation, Composition and Repertory. All classes are open to the serious, pre-professional, and professional dancer.

IMPROV/COMPOSITION
Bridget L. Moore, Artistic DirectorPer Class: $12
This class will use improvisational techniques and composition exercises to guide dancers into a deeper awareness of the body and its capabilities for movement. Participants will explore movement preferences, and analyze concepts to inform individual choices based on choreographic devices. Dancers will be able to use conceptual tools to generate movement by exploring the basic elements of dance: Time, Space, and Energy.
REPERTORY
Bridget L. Moore, Artistic DirectorPer Class: $12
In this Repertory class, participants will be able to work with Artistic Director, Bridget L. Moore to learn and build material for a new work. Moore’s choreographic works provide both cultural and kinesthetic experiences rooted in African-American and global dance aesthetics. Her movement vocabulary is physical and technically challenging, integrating historical and cultural perspectives through research and development. Join her each Saturday to explore, examine, investigate, and generate new concepts for the stage.
CONDITIONING
Tay Diggs (Company Member)Per Class: $10
Conditioning is a compressed, hybrid class, combining elements of Pilates, Yoga, and Strength-training. This class uses the basic fundamentals of Ballet, while focusing on power building exercises that emphasize resistance and high reps. Through small range movements, this deep and intense conditioning works to sculpt, define, and lengthen out muscles. All exercises are centered toward at home training and no additional tools are necessary.
BALLET BARRE
Dwayne Cook (Company Member)Per Class: $10
Get ready for a leveled friendly Ballet barre by executing exercises that will focus the mind, body and spirit. Participants will be given combinations made to strengthen and lengthen the body, working on key fundamentals. Through this beautiful art form, dancers will build a strong foundation needed to deliver consistent qualitative expression, and build strong technique for all genres. Le’s get rooted through this great journey of ballet. See you at the barre.
Contemporary
India Maynor (Company Member)4:00 PM-5:00 PM, CST (ZOOM)
Per Class: $10
This class will be centered around the fundamentals of contemporary and modern dance aesthetics. Dancers will be taken through a series of exercises that build on strength, agility and flexibility, while challenge the technique. The class will conclude with combinations that focuses on emotional connection, alignment and the use of body weight and spatial awareness.
JAZZ TECHNIQUE
Kayleigh Eidson (Company Member)Per Class: $10
This Jazz class will include a full warm-up, focusing on jazz isolations, core stability, support and expansion of movement. Combinations will be given to challenge participants technical ability, agility and quality of expression. Get ready for fun, energetic, and dynamic combos that can be individually stylized to make it your own. Let’s Dance!
